Therecent changes in Canadian mortgage rules have constricted themortgage policies in Canada, distressing many potential home buyers. The changes in mortgage policies were actually brought to curb theincreasing demand of real estate in the two leadingcountries cities of Canada, Toronto andVancouver.

A call has gone out to the government to rescue oil workers in Nigeria as most multinational companies are sacking its staff over the prevailing harsh economic situation.

A 21-day ultimatum has been issued by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers on Wednesday to the Federal Government, urging it to stop the ongoing mass sacking and retrenchment of workers by some international oil companies operating in the country.

The ultimatum was issued on Wednesday by the National President of NUPENG, Mr. Igwe Achese, at the end of a meeting of the Central Working Committee of the union held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to Achese, many oil companies, including Chevron, ExxonMobil, Pan Ocean and Ground Petroleum, among others, were leaving the country following the prevailing economic recession, which has led to the sacking of about 3,000 oil workers.

He regretted Federal Government's reluctance to stop the ongoing massive retrenchment in the sector, as many oil workers have been sacked by their employers leaving them to suffer.

“It is painful to say as I address you, Chevron has wound up in the East and their offices closed. A total of 1,500 workers were sacked without their entitlements and nobody is saying anything. As we speak, many companies have left and many others are winding up to go.

Suddenly the speaker stopped and started giving each person a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.
Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes.
Everyone was frantically searching for their name, pushing, colliding with each other, and there was utter chaos.
At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.
Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.
The speaker began: This is exactly happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is. Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, you will get your own happiness.

At the end of most job interviews, the hiring manager will turn the tables and ask, "So, do you have any questions for me?"

Most candidates use this time to learn more about salary and job requirements — but David Melancon, CEO of btr., a corporate rankings platform that focuses on holistic performance, says these are three questions that are far more important, and most people fail to ask them.

Here are the questions:

1. What qualities will a person in this role need to be successful in your company culture — as an individual and as a worker?
"This company's culture is what it is — and it's easy for a company to use their own buzz words to talk about their culture: 'hard charging,' 'hands-on,' 'mission-driven,' 'entrepreneurial,'" Melancon explains. "Often, these words describe the company leaders or refer to aspirations of the company, but they're not always easy to translate directly to every role."

Let's say you're applying to be a administrative assistant — how does "entrepreneurial" apply? Maybe you're going to be an intern in the Human Resources department and an accounting clerk — what does "mission driven" mean to your role?

"By asking about the qualities needed for success, you enable the interviewer to give you specifics that apply to yourself and your role within that culture, rather than the company line about itself," he says.

2. What's the company's position on education and development, including student loan reimbursement and tuition assistance?
You've put a lot of effort and investment into your education and it's possible — especially if this is an entry-level job — that you may not yet be making a salary commensurate with that, says Melancon.

"Some companies realize that and offer assistance in paying off student loans or assist in furthering your education," he says. "Do they have programs that allow you to continue your education? Understanding the company's point of view on education — past and future — as well as how it implements that POV in benefits is important."

3. How does the company keep employees excited, innovative, and motivated?

Companies have a vested interest in keeping their employees "on top of their game." How does this company do it? "Financial benefits such as profit sharing, merit raises, and spot bonuses can be powerful motivators," says Melancon. "But non-financial benefits such as extra days off, Summer Fridays, free meals, happy hours, and company outings are all culture-driven ways that companies keep employees feeling motivated and excited."

Proposals are usually required when you have an idea, a project, a program or a business you want to initiate. Since business requires collaboration, you need investors (local and foreign) and institutions including the government to startup your plan and the best way to get them involved is through a properly conceptualized proposal.

There are different styles and method of proposal writing, depending on the organisation or institution you are sending it to. More so, the content of the proposal must be strategic, reasonable and properly capture the business in a way that the reader will feel as though you were talking to him or her.

Do you need any type of business or corporate proposal, simply contact Brics International Resourse Solutions on Whatsapp: 2347068180074 and tell us the purpose of your proposal; we will conceptualise and deliver the written proposal in DOC format to your email for you to preview and print. All this is at a give away price.... Make that call now....
